What are the differences between Lighthouse Version & SLAM Version?
Lighthouse
Tracking is "outside-in", which means 1–2 base stations are required.
- Base stations are required.
- Controllers not included.
- Hand tracking not integrated.
- Pass-through not supported.
- Tracking is supported via SteamVR trackers.
SLAM
Tracking is "inside-out" and is done by having 4 cameras on headset.
- Base stations are not required.
- Controllers (2 × 6DoF) are included.
- Hand tracking is integrated.
- Pass-through is supported.
- Tracking via SteamVR (Lighthouse) Base Station trackers is not supported.
FAQs
When will my Pimax Dream Air be shipped after I place my order?
The Pimax Dream Air is currently available for pre-order, starting 1st June 2026. Once payment has been received, orders are expected to be fulfilled within 2 to 4 months.
Based on the latest information from Pimax, the earliest shipments are currently scheduled to begin in August 2026, although delivery timelines may be subject to changes from the manufacturer.
Which controllers are compatible with the Dream Air Lighthouse version?
- The Dream Air Lighthouse version is compatible with the following SteamVR controllers:
1. Valve Index controllers are sold separately (left and right controllers are not bundled as a pair).
2. Pimax Sword
3. HTCVive Controllers
4. Shiftall FlipVR
5. GripVR
6. UDCAP Gloves (Additional trackers required)
Where do you ship to?
We ship primarily within Singapore and Southeast Asia, including Australia.

What are your warranty periods?
International support will be included with your order. For any support related enquiries, you may enquire directly with Pimax or through us, where we can forward your enquiries.
Our warranty periods are one-year from the day that you receive your headset.
For any technical or manufacturing issue within this period, VR Base will perform a one-to-one exchange of the headset at no cost.
What if I need prescription lenses?
If you wear glasses normally, then you will most likely require prescription lenses to use with the Pimax Dream Air as well.
